Two Ohio men killed in afternoon collision

On Behalf of | Jan 12, 2014 | Car Accidents

Two men are dead after a serious accident that occurred in Monroe Township on Jan. 2. The accident happened just after 3 p.m. on U.S. Route 52.

The accident occurred near the 9.5 mile marker when a 56-year-old man, a Felicity resident, was heading northbound in his 2002 Ford F-150. A 29-year-old man out of Norwood, was driving a 1997 Toyota 4-Runner southbound when the accident occurred. Reports state that the driver of the 4-Runner may have turned left of center out of the southbound lane.

The two vehicles collided head on. The man driving the F-150 was reportedly not wearing his seat belt and was pronounced dead at the scene. The other man was taken by Monroe Township EMS over to Anderson Mercy Hospital for emergency treatment, where he was pronounced dead a short time later. The Ohio State Highway Patrol is still investigating the accident. Police are unsure if drugs or alcohol played a role in the crash.

Car accidents may often lead to serious injuries or loss of life. Losing a loved one is always difficult, but when this loss occurs due to another driver’s negligence, it can be especially disheartening. In these instances, it may be a good idea to work with an attorney. A wrongful death lawyer may be able to help a person recover compensation to cover medical bills or funeral expenses for their loved one from a negligent driver or, if the driver deemed responsible dies in the accident, from their estate.
