Automobile accidents in Ohio often lead to injury or death

While the severity of car crashes vary per incident, there are many that have serious results. Unfortunately, Ohio isn't immune to automobile accidents that result in significant injury or death to the victims involved. These accidents may give way to legal action if negligence is discovered to have played a part in the incident.

A recent accident in West Chester ultimately led to the death of a 62-year-old man. According to police reports, a 32-year-old male in a pickup supposedly ran into the back of a car and continued on his way, eventually colliding with another vehicle after allegedly running a red light. The driver of that automobile, a 62-year-old man, died shortly after the crash, and the driver deemed responsible for the crash was taken to the hospital with unspecified injuries. It is unknown if the driver in the first car struck was injured.

This crash shut down the road for several hours while police and cleanup crews tended to the scene. Local law enforcement are still trying to determine the cause of both collisions and why the driver left the site of the first crash. At this time it is unknown if any charges have been filed against the individual believed to be responsible.

Automobile accidents that result in fatality often leave the family members of the deceased with many questions. These questions could relate to the cause of the crash or options available for the victims. As these incidents often cause emotional and financial struggles, the victim's family in this case may choose to pursue a wrongful death claim on behalf of their loved one. If an individual thought to be responsible for this crash is found liable, a civil court in Ohio could award the victim's family monetary compensation to assist in recovering the financial losses they have encountered in relation to the accident.
