Ohio car accidents extra scary when young children are involved

On Behalf of | Feb 9, 2017 | Car Accidents

Car crashes are always a frightening experience for all involved and are, at best, a major inconvenience even when no one is injured. Few car accidents are as scary, however, as those involving children. Officials report that on Feb. 3 a serious car accident in Ohio injured a total of five people, two of whom were young children.

The accident involving two vehicles occurred that Friday. Officials on the scene of the collision reported that a 19-year old man drove his car left of center, crashing into an oncoming vehicle head-on. The vehicle contained a total of four passengers.

Two of those victims were small children, aged two and four years old. Thankfully, they were securely strapped into their car seats, or the accident might have proved fatal. The children were taken to the Nationwide Children Hospital. The two adults who were in the car with the children are also recovering from their injuries at Grant Medical Center.

Officials do expect to file charges against the driver. The family may choose to contact an attorney to explore their options for filing a personal injury suit against the driver at fault, and they have every right to do so. Likewise, anyone in Ohio who has been injured due to another driver’s negligence or wrongdoing might benefit from contacting an attorney with experience in personal injury cases involving car accidents. Monetary damages awarded in similar cases can be used to help with accident-related medical expenses, the loss of wages, and the injured parties’ pain and suffering.
