Yaz, Yasmin & Ocella

Oral Contraceptives

Kelley Ferraro, LLC, recently filed a personal injury lawsuit against Bayer Pharmaceutical Corp. and various subsidiaries, relating to Bayer’s prescription oral contraceptive Yasmin. Studies have shown that women taking Yasmin or Yaz have an increased risk of deep vein thrombosis (DVT), pulmonary embolism (PE), blood clot-related injuries, heart attack, stroke, kidney or gallbladder problems, and even death. The lawsuit alleges that Yasmin was defectively designed and unreasonably dangerous and that Bayer failed to adequately warn women of the dangers associated with this drug. The lawsuit is grouped with other similar lawsuits in the United States District Court for the Southern District of Illinois and is in the early stages of proceedings.
