At best, being involved in even a minor car crash is likely to ruin anyone’s day. Few types of vehicle accidents, though, are as potentially catastrophic as those involving trucks. Just such a recent Ohio crash on U.S. Route 30 left one man dead.

According to reports from Ohio State Highway Patrol, a 63-year-old man was driving around 10:45 a.m. on Wednesday when he approached a construction zone. The truck traveling in front of him braked for traffic, and the man slowed his car as well. Per reports, the tractor trailer traveling behind him did not reduce speed.

The man’s vehicle was struck from behind by the truck, the impact of which then pushed the man’s car into the tractor trailer in front of him. While neither truck driver was injured, the man was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident. Officials continued the investigation into the accident, but there are no reports yet as to whether the truck driver that allegedly caused the accident will face criminal charges.

Regardless, the grieving family of the deceased man may choose to explore their options for a wrongful death suit with an Ohio attorney. In fact, any Ohio residents who have lost loved ones or been seriously injured in vehicle accidents may benefit from seeking the counsel of an experienced personal injury attorney. A lawyer can offer guidance and support in fighting for compensation. Damages awarded in successfully litigated personal injury lawsuits are often used towards the medical bills that resulted from the accident, as well as lost wages and more.
